The fist, is to connect directly to the 37 pin D sub connector on the radio. This is the most common method, and does not require the use of factory provided option cable. Use one of the first four cables listed above. The second method, is to connect via a factory provided extended options cable. This option cable splits to several connectors, including a DB25. Macom part numbers for various versions of this option cable are listed below. 19B802554P2* USA Accessory Cable, Front Mount, Extended Options Extended option cables available from Macom. * Compatible with 725M and M7100 There is a USA version and Euro version of the Orion. This affects the gender of the DB37 on the radio itself. USA radios have a DB37F on the radio. Euro version radios (Remote Mount Only?) have a DB37M connector on the radio. All three of these radio models
(Orion/725M/M7100) are available in both a front mount version (aka dash
mount or one piece), and a
rear mount (aka trunk mount, remote mount, or two piece). There is no
difference in E&M cable, when comparing these front and rear mount
radio types. |

Radio Programming Notes- Under the external i/o options menu: Aux Input 1 = PTT Also, disable all alert tones as these also cause the external mute
line to trigger. |
